Startup vs. Pandemic: Farmgirl Flowers’ Fight for Survival

At the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic, “non-essential” businesses across the United States were shuttered as part of quarantine measures. Many of these businesses are now gone forever, driven under by fixed costs even while closed for business. The closures have brought about a historic level of unemployment, and overall economic recovery will likely take years.

Farmgirl Flowers founder (and friend of the show) Christina Stembel returns to share how she navigated difficult emotions and impossible decisions during the early days of the Covid-19 crisis, as she tried to save the startup that she spent 10 years building.

Later in the show, Zibby Owens, creator of the podcast, “Moms Don’t Have Time To Read,” helps us broaden our reading horizons during lockdown.
