Award-winning NY Times features reporter Katie Rosman writes about some of the most “now” issues that her paper will cover- scrums on Twitter, the fleeting fame of influencers, and flare-out fashion trends. But she’s also hosted “news clubs” and other social events designed to not only foster meaningful dialogue among those who consume news in the age of outrage culture, but to encourage it to be consumed more thoughtfully. As a journalist for one of America’s oldest surviving newspapers, Rosman is very mindful that we’re living in an era of media disruption- and has hopes and fears for what the democratization of the printed word will mean for journalistic integrity, social interactions, and global attitudes.
