Matt Scanlan – Disruptive Fair Trade: How Naadam Is Getting the Cashmere Industry’s Goat

Matt Scanlan walked into Mongolia with $2.5M in cash and almost no plan besides buying cashmere directly from the herders scattered across the countryside. He chronicled his month-long stay in the Mongolian desert in a video that made his startup, Naadam, explode onto the world stage. Today, Naadam is disrupting the billion-dollar cashmere industry by dealing directly with the herders and producers of cashmere wool to keep cashmere sustainable, equitable, and humane.
