What is a 10% Entrepreneur? It’s someone who commits 10% of their time, and if possible, 10% of their financial capital, towards starting, investing in, or becoming an advisor to entrepreneurial ventures while keeping their day job. When you’re a 10% Entrepreneur, you make a fundamental commitment: you take responsibility for your entrepreneurial journey and bring this mindset back to your day job so that you and your company can thrive and become more innovative.
Why is this important? At a time when more than 30% of workers have side hustles (or 10%’s), companies have yet to find a way to harness all of that entrepreneurial energy for the good of their own operations.
Have you been online in the past year? If you have, then you’ve definitely heard about FOMO. "Fear of missing out" is now an epidemic, but when I coined the term in 2004, I had no idea that it would one day be in the Oxford Dictionary.
But here’s the thing, it’s not just people that have FOMO, companies do too, and they can chase after trends and fads to the peril of their core business. They can also suffer from FOBO, or "Fear of a Better Option", and waste precious time and resources waiting for the perfect option to come along (hint, it never will).
Both can be lethal for your business, so I’ll show you how to beat them.
